Fatal Passenger Vehicle Crash in Northeastern the Brazilian Northeast Takes 15 Lives
A long-distance passenger coach traveling through north-eastern the country was involved in a serious accident, leaving 15 passengers fatally injured, as reported by local officials.
Details of the Crash
The vehicle was carrying about thirty passengers when it veered off and collided with a sand barrier, causing it to flip on its side. The number of wounded passengers taken to local hospitals is not yet confirmed.
The trip began in the state of Bahia and ended tragically in Saloá, located in the neighbouring state of Pernambuco.
Sequence of Events
Preliminary information indicate that the bus operator lost control of the bus, entering the opposite lane and striking boulders on the shoulder. After that, the driver returned to the proper lane but then collided with a sand embankment, which led the vehicle to overturn.
The reason behind the crash is presently under investigation. The driver sustained minor injuries and was found negative for alcohol consumption.

The governor expressed that the government is providing support for the rescue operation and identifying the victims. In a statement, "Our team is following the incident and sincerely regret the fatalities, the harm and the pain of all the families."
