Manchester United Poised to Sign German Striker Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for United
The forward, with six months left on her contract, has been a consistent goal-getter for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing will be seen as a marquee coup for the WSL side.
Her exit from Munich has been anticipated since she was seen holding back emotions while thanking the club's fans after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading strikers. According to reports, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Boost United's Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s arrival is expected to provide a significant uplift to United’s forward line. Schüller has been remarkably reliable in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
