Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, bringing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Impact
Residents observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
