The network's Premier Fresh Series of 2025 Gets a Significant Renewal for Two More Seasons.

During the fall season, Adult Swim debuted a new season of its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. Yet, not long after, the channel launched a brand-new animated series with a strikingly different vibe. Haha, You Clowns proved to be sweet and soothing, evoking a cartoon version of a contemplative talk show. During a period often marked by dark humor, this show's sincerity struck a chord and turned it into a breakout hit.

A Significant Investment

On December 18th, Adult Swim revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been picked up for a further two seasons. This provides creator Joe Cappa significant creative freedom to develop the story of the Campbell family. The show centers on three well-mannered teenage brothers whose primary trait is their strong bond for their widowed father, with Cappa voicing for all four main characters.

"My deepest thanks go to the fans of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and shared it with others," said Cappa. "I’m incredibly thrilled that I get to continue exploring the Campbell household for a little longer."

Executive Acclaim

In the same announcement praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "profoundly sincere and uniquely eerie." He specifically highlighted the fans who found the show and supported its distinctly quirky appeal.

"All of you got behind this new show, championed for it on social media, and expanded its audience week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," said Ouweleen. "To quote: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"

A Comforting Counterpoint

Earlier this fall, Haha, You Clowns was described as "a gentle counterpart" to other adult animated fare. There’s something surprisingly comfy about following this charming family go about their daily lives.

At the time, creator Joe Cappa stated his desire to move the comedy genre beyond its prevailing sarcastic tone. He linked this trend to a broader media landscape.

“It feels like there's a default mode of irony that we are trapped in,” explained Cappa. “It feels as if we have to know we’re the cleverest viewer in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for too long, and we need to laugh at something different now. It's time for comedy to grow.”

Future Seasons

With this renewal, with Haha, You Clowns set to continue, Cappa may well be part of that change he described. At a minimum, the renewal promises audiences additional episodes to enjoy the gentle humor of the beloved Campbell clan.

The first season's conclusion of Haha, You Clowns will premiere on December 21st. All episodes is available for streaming on HBO Max.
