The President Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Guard Personnel to the White House

Former President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The president explained he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump told journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that instructors hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of her previous school, stated to the press. “She was kind, caring and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Government Revisions

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event prompted the government to halt asylum processing and temporarily stop granting visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader the governor stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general told a news show that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
